Wejoo Terms of Use

Version 1 · Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]

1. About these terms

These Terms of Use govern your use of the Wejoo app and of the website wejoo.app. Wejoo is operated by [COMPANY LEGAL NAME], a [LEGAL FORM] registered in the United Arab Emirates under trade licence no. [TRADE LICENCE No.] issued by [LICENSING AUTHORITY], whose registered address is [REGISTERED ADDRESS] ("Wejoo", "we", "us").

When you create your profile, you tick a box to accept these Terms, including the Community Guidelines (section 9), and our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data. If you do not agree with them, do not use Wejoo.

2. What Wejoo is, and what it is not

Wejoo lets people give away, for free, items they no longer need to people nearby in Dubai. A giver publishes an item; people nearby ask for it; the giver chooses who will receive it; the two arrange the pickup themselves on WhatsApp; and the handover is confirmed in the app with a code.

6.1 Publishing a listing

6.2 Requesting an item

6.3 Choosing and handing over

6.4 Giving it on

A receiver may, in turn, give the item on through Wejoo. The item's page then shows its journey: the first names and neighbourhoods of the previous givers and the dates of each handover.

7. Ratings

After a handover, each person may rate the other. Ratings must be honest, relate to the exchange and respect the Community Guidelines. They are published on profiles. We may remove a rating that breaks these Terms.

8. Safety at pickups

Wejoo does not verify the identity of its users and is not present at pickups. You are responsible for your own safety. We recommend that you:

In an emergency, call the police on 999.

9. Community guidelines

Wejoo works because its members trust each other. On Wejoo, you agree to:

It is forbidden to:

Zero tolerance

Wejoo has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You can report any listing, profile or rating in two taps, and block any user at any time. We review reports within [REVIEW SLA: 24 or 48] hours, remove content that breaks these Terms, and ban the users who publish it or behave abusively. A report about someone's safety can lead to the immediate suspension of the account concerned. We may inform the competent authorities.

Child safety

Wejoo is for adults only. We have zero tolerance for any content or behaviour that sexualises, exploits or endangers children. We remove it, permanently ban the accounts involved and report them to the competent authorities. Report it in the app or at support@wejoo.app. [LAWYER: child-safety point of contact, if required by Google Play]

10. Prohibited items

You must not give items whose possession, transfer or advertising is prohibited or restricted in the UAE, or items that are dangerous. The definitive list will be set by our legal counsel.

[PROHIBITED ITEMS LIST — to be finalised by UAE counsel. Indicative categories to review:]

We may remove any listing we consider inappropriate, even if its item is not listed above.

12. Your content

You keep your rights to the photos and texts you publish. 17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai. In case of disagreement, contact us first at support@wejoo.app so that we can try to find an amicable solution. Failing that, [GOVERNING COURTS: e.g. the courts of Dubai] will have jurisdiction.
